Background
Is a native to Texas born in Brenham, Texas and raised in Houston Texas.
Her love for design was kindled when she was eleven years old through observing her mother, grandmother and aunties sewing. While not allowed to play on her mother’s sewing machine she learned to sew through a local community center by retired teachers Mrs. Wilburn and Mrs. Franklin. Not only did Anita adapt to the art of sewing but at an early age she found that free hand sketching of still life was a natural. After winning several mail-in drawings she meshed art and sewing by designing and sewing her first dress at age 12. Art and Sewing was a passion she carried through high school in addition to playing basketball, running track and playing in the band.
Her passion for design and conceptual artistic design followed her onto college at Texas A & M University where she graduated a Professional Floral Culture Program which led to her to matriculate at Texas Southern University studying Organizational Communications & Art Design. While in attendance at TSU she decided to study Mechanical Engineering Drafting because of her curiosity in assembling intricate objects together. All of which has contributed to the success of her 30-year Design career. Some of her projects include Luxury Residential Homes, Super Bowl 38, Super Bowl 51 Media Center located at the GRB, The Power Center, Theatrical Set Design, Video Production, A-List Celebrity Wardrobes and University Interior Design.
