CCC’s early childhood education program helps young children achieve age-appropriate developmental milestones in the cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language domains so they can reach their full potential, become independent learners and thinkers, and transition successfully to kindergarten. The program is part of United Way of Greater Houston’s Bright Beginnings initiative and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
NAEYC accreditation demonstrates that the program meets rigorous standards of quality, such as employing an educated and qualified teaching staff; keeping a low student-teacher ratio in each classroom; utilizing an evidence-based and developmentally-appropriate curriculum; engaging in responsive and collaborative relationships with children and their families; and providing a safe and healthy physical environment for children, families, and staff. According to Early Matters, only 4% of Harris County child care centers are accredited by the main accrediting bodies, including NAEYC. CCC’s Early Learning Center is the only NAEYC-accredited program operating in Southwest Houston’s 77036 ZIP code , making it an important source of high-quality child care in that area.
